Worship Leader for Church Plant

City of Refuge Community Church is looking for a bi-vocational worship leader to assist in a southside church plant that will be having the first of it's bi-monthly worship services October 4, 2009.

CORE exists to join God in His mission to go into the entire world to seek, save, and disciple the lost through the power of the gospel. Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 1:8

vision

CORE will join God’s work of developing a biblically functioning community of people in the Marquette Park area who are in desperate pursuit of God, rooted in the word of God, obedient to biblical instruction, and engaged in ministries of mercy and justice. Acts 2:36-47

Responsibilities of the Worship Leader:

- Assist the ignite worship planning team in planning and leading worship experiences
- Select, order, and coordinate multiple genres of music for the worship service
- To recruit, develop, and lead a worship band that will help focus the congregation on the goodness, glory, majesty, and sovereignty of the Triune God
- To work collaboratively with the audio/visual, and worship arts teams
-To stay current with all genres of Christian music and maintain a library
- Lead worship band can continue to grow in their faith, gifts, and abilities
- Work with the youth pastor to build exciting music programs for youth
- Present missional and connection concerts for the community to aid in developing and maintaining a presence in the surrounding community

- Prepare and arrange original music for vocal and instrumental expression
- Relate and work well with a church staff and lay leadership
- Stay current with worship resources such as Integrity Music, and Hosanna

Worship Leader must also:

- Be called to ministry and have a passion for multicultural urban ministry
- Demonstrate a sincere commitment to Jesus Christ and His Church
- Be creative, have radical vision, and open to unorthodox methods of ministry
- Be intrinsically motivated and a hard worker
- Be appreciative of all genres of music
- Have the potential for great leadership
- Have the ability to persevere through the arduous task of Church planting
- Model a life of growing character, integrity, maturity, and servanthood
- Have an entrepreneurial spirit and be excited about starting an effective ministry from the ground up
- (If married) Demonstrate the ability to balance family, work, and ministry, with an emphasis on family and personal care
- Agree with the mission, vision, doctrinal statement, and CORE values

This position is perfect for the person who has soncere heart for God, looking to get the start in ministry, and has a passion for the less fortunate.


Salary: $50 per weekly worship service. Salary will grow as congregation grows. All salary terms will be spelled out in writing.
