Worship Director

We are a church of six years old meeting in a high school auditorium. New Beginnings Church is a demographically mixed congregation located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
We have recently purchased 20 acres upon which we intend to build the first unit. Our staff includes full time Senior Pastor, Youth Director, Administrative Assistant, part time bookkeeper and Parish Nurse.
We currently offer one service averaging 100 in attendance with a music blending of 20% traditional and 80% contemporary service at 10:00AM on Sunday. We are looking for an enthusiastic Worship Leader to work 20 hours a week.
One half of that job will be focused upon selecting music in consultation with the Senior Pastor, weekly rehearsals, directing and encouraging a lay worship team of five vocalist and five instrumentalists. The other half of the job will be providing leadership for other areas of worship related ministries, sound & technical services, visual arts, and setup/takedown.
We realize that it may very difficult to find someone who has the music, time and administrative skills to do the total 20 hours per week job. We would be willing to change our approach to someone who has just the music end and for 10 hours per week and would only work with the praise team, rehearsals, and Sunday mornings.
The candidate we have envisioned would lead worship with keyboard and our volunteer vocal team. Over time volunteer instrumentalists would be recruited and added to the Praise team.
