St. James' Episcopal Church in South Pasadena is seeking a talented, dynamic, and experienced part-time Minister of Music and Worship to coordinate music for 1 Sunday service per week, as well as several other services throughout the year (including Ash Wednesday, Holy Week, Christmas Eve, and occasional special services such as Taize, Choral Evensong, and Advent Lessons and Carols).  

St. James' boasts a highly reputable and established music program, including adult and children's choirs, a quartet of professional section leader/soloists, and a concert series featuring guest artists from around the world.

Our parish appreciates music in a diverse range of styles, including contemporary, gospel, and spirituals, but with a strong emphasis on traditional music, particularly that of the Anglican and Episcopal churches.  The ideal candidate will be a highly skilled musician with a strong background in choral music, preferably with advanced degrees in a relevant musical discipline.  S/he will also be a team player and an inspired leader, whose work reflects the principles of Christian discipleship.
