Part-Time Accompanist

Westview United Methodist Church is seeking a service oriented individual to provide part-time accompanist services to our congregation.

Skills Desired:

Skilled at play the electronic keyboard; familiarity with church music, and an attitude of service and cooperation.

Salary:

$5,000 per year

Responsibilities:

The accompanist plays the keyboards for worship services (generally two on Sunday mornings), choir practices, soloists, funerals and special occasions. The accompanist works under the leadership of the music minister and the pastor, working closely with the staff and laity to provide appropriate music and a worshipful environment for a small, divers congregation. Responsibilities include:

1. Play the keyboard for worship services each Sunday, as well s special services when needed.
2. Play the keyboard for adult choir practice.
3. Assist music minister and pastor in planning worship services.
4. Try to participate in at least one professional development activity during the year.
