Organist

by Daniel Roihl
(Topsfield, MA USA)

Congregational Church of Topsfield

Congregational Church of Topsfield

The Congregational Church of Topsfield MA seeks a part-time Organist to provide music for weekly worship services (Sundays at 9:30am) plus occasional special services, and to accompany choir rehearsals on Thursday evenings (except during the summer) and Sunday mornings.

The Organist supports the Director of Music and the Arts in sustaining the church's vibrant music program, which currently includes a 25-member chancel choir, a youth choir, and a handbell choir. We enjoy worshipping in a variety of musical styles (gospel, contemporary, etc.) but with a strong emphasis on classical/traditional sacred repertoire.

The church sanctuary features an excellent Wurlitzer piano and a Wicks pipe organ built in the 1960s. The organ was refurbished in 1986, and a significant capital campaign to fund further improvements is currently well underway.

The position is for 10-12 hours a week beginning August 1, 2010, with a salary of $10,000-$14,000 depending on experience. Please send inquiries and resumes to Daniel Roihl, Director of Music and the Arts, at droihl@gmail.com.
