Music Director/Coordinator

Elmhurst Baptist Church celebrates its 108 years of continued service to the community. Elmhurst Baptist Church continues to grow with approximately 120 members and is located in Queens County. We as Christ-followers, seek to glorify God in a contemporary and progressive fellowship dedicated to engage the gospel of Jesus Christ in the world through a multi-ethnic church.

We are looking for a part-time year round Music Director/Coordinator. The primary responsibilities are:

1. Enhances the service of worship with appropriate music, which assists the congregation in praising and serving God.

2. Able to provide organ/piano music for worship services and other occasional gatherings.

3. Can establish a worshipful, positive feeling and movement in the worship service through selection of music appropriate to worship themes.

4. Able to provide accompaniment for rehearsals of the choir and other musical groups.

5. Prepare and play prelude, offertory and postlude.

6. Willing to provide music for other church functions, such as: Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, and as requested by the church members (additional compensation provided) for special occasions such as: wedding, funerals, etc.

7. Coordination with the pastor on monthly basis or as needed.

Skills:
1. Experienced in choral directing
2. Play piano and organ proficiently
3. Knowledge of wide variety of hymns
