Position: Director of Music for dynamic Episcopal Church poised for growth.

Work Environment:
St. George Episcopal Church located in Maple Valley, WA
Job Requirements:
Progressive experience as musician (individual performer and as ensemble member) with excellent piano & organ skills (other instruments a plus);
Familiar with broad range of Christian music including but not limited to: hymnody - preferably Anglican, gospel, praise, folk, rock, and preferably all forms of contemporary Christian music;
Minimum 5 years experience in developing programs and leading choirs preferred
Core Job Description:
Select and prepare music for two Sunday services: 9 am and 11 am;
Provide choral leadership and teaching for small traditional choir at 9 am and small contemporary choir at 11 am;
Help develop innovative adult and youth programs as church grows
On occasion be part of a team developing a special event program / concert.
Hours:
5 hours per week to include: Preparation for both Sunday services and practice of both choirs.
Currently choir practice for the 9 am Sunday service is on Sunday from
7:30 am to 8:45 am, and choir practice for the 11 am service is on Sunday from 10:15 - 10:50 am.
Additional paid time for special services (Christmas & Easter) with extra choir rehearsals for special Sunday presentations.
Salary: $50/hour

Our congregation loves music and enthusiastically participates in worship music. Our 11 am contemporary service is relatively new and we are seeking the right mix of music for the service.
We have been blessed with a very talented and loving music director that has invested time to develop our choir and loving approach to encourage and support their endeavors.
