Seasons change

I've been playing music at church for over 20 years. It started just helping out with lots of others until life happened and they all got too busy and I was left. How many people end up in leadership the same way?

Just keep showing up and God will use you to bless others.

Change is good

And after years of being able to serve the local church as a music volunteer I'm now in a place where doing that will not continue.

My wife's parents are getting to the point they need to be looked after. Some days are better than others for them. As part of my vows to my wife to put her above all others I realize that now is the time to make myself available to her to serve in a new way.

So - I'm off to the Washington DC area where life is expense and the commute is long, but I have left a capable team at my church in Richmond who has prepared for such a time as this.

So seasons change - we just don't know what tomorrow brings, but we know Who holds tomorrow.

My comrades in music service in your local church, be encouraged. Do your best to remember your work is a gift and a compulsion. And it doesn't last forever...
