Working
September 30, 2009
Hello,

Working

Thanks to God answering the prayers of His people I am working.

While it may not be my first choice, here I am in Richmond, working on a one year contract for a major bank conversion. Leaving home isn't much fun, but it's a choice I need to make for now.

Sure puts being a church musician on hold, too.

I like working, feeling productive – like I'm doing something valuable to help someone.

Even if I never meet the people who may benefit from getting their data converted correctly and simplifying many people's lives – I know I was meant to help people.

Oh, yes, and the money helps too.

Not sure how I made it almost a year without a regular paycheck.

A bit of a mystery that God never let go of or forgot about.

He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how will He not, also with Him freely give us all things? Romans 8:32

Do you have anything to teach?

Last month's survey input has left me with lots of topics to write about.

In the midst of a prolonged job search, my writing has fallen by the wayside. I would not have believed looking for a job could be so time consuming - not to mention the emotional distraction.

I've provided the platform for you to try out what you've learned on others. Remember you were once clueless about things you now do naturally.

There's someone just like you, just getting started, perhaps, and needs what you can teach them.

I appeal to you, my 250+ newsletter subscribers to help each other out.

Here are some suggested topics:

“Advanced Keyboard and Music - Technology tips/lessons/guides/info “

“I think it would be nice to get more information on how to set up a website for a person and their ministry.”

“Leadership Role Choir Tips Growth in Choirs Warm Up with Scripture Music Director & Choir Music Ministry Song Selections “

“Getting volunteers more involved. Keeping up morale. Identifying difficulty of music, new techniques. “

“How to incorporate newer hymns/more contemporary tunes into a blended worship settings. “ and finally,

“stuff to help me teach my team about worship “.

I'd love to know what you have learned regarding these topics. You can share a tip by clicking here.
