Being Led
August 27, 2009
Hello,

Being Led

I have a confession to make. I'm not that good at being led. Especially after making suggestions to people who admit they are not musically trained.

I'm not defending my critical tendency. It's not something I consider attractive or a good attribute to have.

In fact, I'm convicted how far I have to go to look past the "vessel" and focus on the goal of their efforts - the worship of God.

Is it possible to over prepare one's heart to worship?

Would it ever be a hindrance to have my eyes so fixed on God, to be so delighted with His perfections that I miss worship?

Isn't enjoying God what worship is all about?

Not checking the vessels He uses to lead us, only to find that they, too, fall short?

May it be for us as the psalmist exclaims: "Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their master, so our eyes look to the Lord our God until He shall be gracious to us".

Write for Your Life

Last month's survey input has left me with lots of topics to write about.

In the midst of a prolonged job search, my writing has fallen by the wayside. I would not have believed looking for a job could be so time consuming - not to mention the emotional distraction.

I've provided the platform for you to try out what you've learned on others. Remember you were once clueless about things you now do naturally.

There's someone just like you, just getting started, perhaps, and needs what you can teach them.

I appeal to you, my 250+ newsletter subscribers to help each other out.

Here are some suggested topics:

“Advanced Keyboard and Music - Technology tips/lessons/guides/info “

“I think it would be nice to get more information on how to set up a website for a person and their ministry.”

“Leadership Role Choir Tips Growth in Choirs Warm Up with Scripture Music Director & Choir Music Ministry Song Selections “

“Getting volunteers more involved. Keeping up morale. Identifying difficulty of music, new techniques. “

“How to incorporate newer hymns/more contemporary tunes into a blended worship settings. “ and finally,

“stuff to help me teach my team about worship “.

I'd love to know what you have learned regarding these topics. You can share a tip by clicking here.
