July 23, 2009
Hello,

Joyful July,

I recently had lunch with our church's pastor of worship and creative arts. He had just returned from vacation and was handling some issues that had come up while he was gone. As we talked, it seemed to me that what he is facing is pretty typical in most settings where contemporary music is the style preferred by most of the congregation.

His substitute had cranked it up a notch stepping over the acceptability threshold. What was unique in this situation is the concerned individual provided their name. It offered the pastor a chance to listen. Wanting to understand goes a long way to making peace and any changes if needed.

May we all be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger!

Thanks for your input
